Sign-in will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express.  The Seminar on Friday is from 8:05 a. m. to 4:45 p.m. and qualifies for 8 hours of CPE.  Registration fee includes continental breakfast on Friday and Saturday, lunch, refreshment breaks and course materials (if any), the Friday night social dinner and Saturday morning (one hr) CPE Session.  Florence Chapter Meeting (two CPE’s) on Thursday is a separate charge.

Hotel Accommodations:

 

The NEW Holiday Inn Express @ I-95, Exit 170, (Hwy. 327) Florence, SC will be our host hotel.  Participants are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements.  A block of rooms will be held until February 6, 2005.

Cancellations and refunds:  A written cancellation postmarked up to fourteen calendar days before the course begins entitles you to a full refund of registration fee.  Cancellations between fourteen days and the day of the course are subject to a cancellation fee of $40.  No shows are not entitled to refund.                                                                            


 

 CPE on Saturday February 26th in Florence, SC

 

Starting at 8:00 AM, before the Carolinas Council meeting, there will be a one-hour CPE session on “Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 - Internal Control Documentation & Testing – Year One”  presented by Gloria M. Bell, Director of Internal Audit with Sonoco Products, Hartsville, SC. 

Please come to Florence for the Friday CPE session and stay over to attend the one hour CPE session on Saturday.  Continental Breakfast is provided for all attendees.

At the council meeting, THERE WILL BE A DRAWING FOR A FREE REGISTRATION PACKAGE  (Value ~$770.) TO THE BOSTON NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN JUNE 2005.  If you are in council attendance, your name will be in the hat!!    Don’t miss out.

Encourage your chapter board members to attend.  You will earn one hour of CPE and it will be educational and fun.  If you haven’t been to Council lately, this is a great opportunity to see what’s going on with the Carolinas Council.

Text Box: The Florence Area Chapter of IMA invites you to attend an educational seminar on “Scams and Schemes” presented by Special Agent Vince Flamini, CPA with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

 

 

 

 

 COME ON THURSDAY!!!

To begin this weekend of  “Looking Within – Internal Controls Post Enron,” The Florence Area Chapter meeting will feature a dynamic speaker from the FBI.  Special Agent Vincent Flamini is a CPA who has been with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for approximately fifteen years.  If you don’t have sufficient knowledge of the various scams and schemes that are current in the business environment, you won’t be able to prevent or detect fraud.   He’ll tell us what to watch out for.

 

Make it a three day event.  Come early to the CAROLINAS COUNCIL WINTER PROGRAM and attend the Florence Area chapter meeting on Thursday.  The CPE is included with the cost of your dinner.  The meeting is at the same hotel as the Friday session.   It couldn’t be easier to get CPE than to come to FLORENCE in February.

This educational seminar will qualify for 2 CPE credits.
